WHAT IS SUPERMOON

WHAT’S SUPER IN SUPER MOON AND HOW DID IT LOOK WORLDWIDE

WHAT IS SUPERMOON
Last week marks the largest and brightest full moon of 2020.

The best view of Super Pink Moon was expected from Tuesday 7th April until Wednesday 8th April (MARK YOUR DATES) but it depends on the weather conditions and where you live in the world.Although it is called 'Super Pink Moon', it does not actually look pink.In April's Super Moon the word 'Super' indicates that it is visible in the sky. When the moon is at the nearest point (or 90 percent) of the Earth, it is called 'Super Moon'.

In other words, the moon does not orbit the earth in a perfect circle. Sometimes it is close, sometimes a little, and sometimes far.

When it is at its nearest location, it is called the perigee (the point of the elliptical circle closest to the earth) and a superman is when the perigee moon is also the full moon.
WHY IT IS CALLED SUPER PINK MOON?IS IT REALLY PINK?

In many cultures, including the Native American tribes, people named each full moon to keep track of time. The moon is named after the pink flowers called 'wild ground flux'. The flowers, which open at the beginning of spring, are visible everywhere in the United States and Canada.

In other parts of the world this moon is also known as 'Spring Grass Moon', 'Egg Moon' and 'Fish Moon'.
